Hi Jane. I will now have to go out and look on Kindle for the books! I have had a monthly subscription to books on tape/audible for years as I like to listen to them in the car. I haven't tried too many of them when I had the Kindle book and the audible edition. Will have to try. Thanks for the tips. Love, Bonnie

A couple of years ago Amazon bought Audible, the major distributor of audio books. If you go to Audible, most books are in the $29 to $39 range. If you buy the Kindle text version first, however, then you can purchase the narration for less - AND you can switch between reading and listening. I recently listened to the Orphan Master's Son. The Kindle text version is $11.99. The Whispersync audio is $8.99 once you own the Kindle text version. If you just went to Audible and bought the audio book, the price would be $35. So, even if you just plan to listen, there is a savings if you start by purchasing the Kindle text version and then add the Whispersync.

>> Jane… What a funny coincidence! One of the other women on the trip was with me at the bookstore and her husband's birthday was later that week. We saw the Cotterill books and she bought one for him. I immediately looked it up on Kindle. I need big print and unfortunately The books are only available in print.

Given the countries you visited, have you read the Dr. Siri "mysteries" about a doctor in his 70s in the 1970s, mainly in Laos? The author is Colin Cotterill, and the first one is the Coroner's Lunch. I'm replying to the list in that others might enjoy the books as well.
