They take your breath away and make us aware of how insignificant we are in the face of nature. I love the mystery of the Northern Lights but have never seen them. This swirly one makes us think of Van Gogh’s <i class="">Starry Night. </i> A few years ago I received a post card from Alaska which I keep on my desk showing these green lights soaring high. It was photographed at Takotna Checkpoint and shows resting dog teams in the foreground.
