[Oxford63] Reunion Photos

I think it went:

'I' before 'e' except after 'c'
or when sounded like 'ay' (not sure of the spelling of that!) as in 'neighbor' or 'weigh'.

Exception: 'Neither leisure foreigner seized the weird height'.

Better than Spell-checker, no?

Oh Jane- Those photos are great even on my sluggish old computer. Thank you so much.
As for the spelling rules- I think it would be fun to try to put our heads together and see how many we can come up with as a class. I'll write the ones that come to my mind and if everyone else throws one or two in we might come out with a pretty good list.
 1. OK we all know the i before e except after c. (remember- a friend to the end)
Exceptions-- Neither leisure foreigner could seize the weird height. (or weight)
 2. When adding ed or ing you double the last letter (consonant) only if the accent is on that last syllable and the vowel is short. i.e. parelleled, abetted, abated, visited.
That is enough for my brain for tonight. I think up more in my sleep.
Lots of love to all--- Judy

Dear Classmates,

Thanks for being patient with me. I just knew I needed a good block of time to put up the photographs, and I got that last weekend (Labor Day) and today. Thanks ever so much to Anne, Betsy and Lelly for contributing lots of images. We have a pretty good representation of events.

I did degrade the photos somewhat so that they would not take FOREVER to load. On the other hand, if you are on a dial-up connection, you might want to fix a cup of coffee or otherwise occupy yourself while they crawl to your computer. The link is:

What I enjoyed most about the reunion was that we could simply pick up where we left off - after all, we all know each other fairly well.

Meanwhile, I have more aspirations for our digital future. I would like to password the Email List so that we could use it as a jumping off place to more personal information such as addresses and telephone numbers. As it stands, the site and the list are open to the Internet - though no one but us knows that they're there!

I would also like to add Barbara Jarrell's spelling rules to our Web site. That's something we could contribute to the world, and I'm sure BJ would approve. Is there a pack rat out there with a printed copy? Would K-O happen to have them?

Enjoy...
